8th Sustainability Summit

The 8th Sustainability Summit, organized jointly by Istanbul Nişantaşı University’s Department of Textile and Fashion Design and the Textile Exporters and Employees Association (TİHCAD), took place at NeoTech Campus on December 18, 2025.

Held under the theme “The Solution: Innovation & Digital Transformation,” the summit brought together academics, industry representatives, technology experts and students to assess current sustainability developments in textiles and fashion, explore innovative approaches and raise awareness of digital transformation. With diverse stakeholders, it enabled academia and industry to exchange knowledge and experience around industry, innovation and infrastructure.

The summit addressed sustainability’s current status, environmentally friendly living practices, industry applications of innovation, digital transformation’s effects on production and management, and global vision from multiple perspectives. Surveys during the event collected participants’ views, enabling different stakeholders to share assessments of sustainability and digital transformation.

The university’s civil society partnership with TİHCAD supported the connection between academic knowledge and industry experience, while the summit created a foundation for shared solutions among academia, industry and technology stakeholders in sustainability, innovation and digital transformation.

Offering students direct access to industry knowledge and experience, the event strengthened university–industry interaction and increased awareness of the sustainable, innovative transformation of textiles and fashion.
