9th IERFM 2025
Organised jointly by three universities in Bursa on 8–10 May, IERFM 2025 focused on the digital economy, green innovation and sustainable development, featuring 109 papers, two investment sessions and practical econometrics training.
Academic Cooperation for the Digital Economy, Green Innovation and Sustainable Development
The 9th Congress on Economic Research and Financial Markets with International Participation (IERFM 2025), organized jointly by Istanbul Nişantaşı University, Trakya University and Bursa Uludağ University, was successfully held at Bursa Hilton Hotel on May 8–10. Demonstrating academic continuity and institutional impact in its ninth edition, this year’s congress focused on major areas of structural transformation under the theme “Digital Economy: Green Innovation and a Sustainable Future.”
The congress featured 109 academic papers and two special investment sessions with industry professionals discussing current market dynamics and investment strategies. Participants also received practical econometrics training. Moderated by Dr. Barış Esen, Corporate Communications Director at Yatırım Finansman, the opening session featured speeches by Istanbul Nişantaşı University Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Komsuoğlu Çıtıpıtıoğlu, Bursa Uludağ University Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz and Marmara University faculty member Prof. Dr. Burak Arzova.
The closing session took place on Friday, May 9, under the title “Economic Developments and Trends in the World and Türkiye.” Prof. Dr. Erhan Aslanoğlu, Prof. Dr. Zahide Onaran and Dr. Nuri Sevgen discussed current economic developments, moderated by İnfo Yatırım Corporate Communications Director Mine Uzun.
Concluding with a tour of Bursa, IERFM 2025 brought academia and the financial world together around digital economics, green innovation and sustainable development, creating a high-quality forum for scientific discussion. By examining economic transformation from multiple perspectives, the congress once again served as an effective platform offering current data and insights for policymakers, academics and industry representatives.
