Ninth International Congress on Health Sciences and Management
The 9th International Congress on Health Sciences and Management was held at our university on 23–24 May 2024, exploring integrated healthcare, digitalisation, health economics, and AI.
The ninth International Congress on Health Sciences and Management began on 23–24 May 2024, hosted by İstanbul Nişantaşı University in cooperation with Karadeniz Technical University and the International Strategic Health Research Centre. Academics, industry representatives, policymakers and decision-makers from Türkiye and abroad attended.
Opening speeches were delivered by Congress Co-Chairs Prof. Dr. Sedat Çoban and Associate Professor Fadime Çınar, İstanbul Provincial Health Director Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu, Karadeniz Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Çuvalcı and İstanbul Nişantaşı University Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşegül Komsuoğlu Çıtıpıtıoğlu.
Deputy Minister of Health Associate Professor Şuayıp Birinci delivered the opening lecture, “Managing the Future of Health,” moderated by Prof. Dr. İsmail Ağırbaş. He said demographic and epidemiological changes, rising costs, human capital, digitalisation and health literacy would determine healthcare’s future. Explaining transformation in the health system, he noted that evidence-based, digitalised management could overcome ageing-related cost pressures and service gaps.
He emphasised that an integrated healthcare approach could enable equitable access to all services. He also assessed sector innovations and Türkiye’s position in world-standard healthcare through scientific analysis and data.
Bringing together academics in health management and public health, the congress presents studies under “A New Future in Health: Integrated Healthcare,” including Health Economics, Medical Tourism, Healthcare in Gaza, AI Use, Healthcare Management and Remote Healthcare. It will continue on 23–24 May.
