The fifth Gender Equality-Sensitive Mentoring Programme, organised jointly by İstanbul Nişantaşı University’s Women and Family Studies Application and Research Centre and the Business and Professional Women’s Association (BPW İstanbul), concluded at NeoTech Campus with strong interest.

The programme began with speeches by History Department Head Prof. Dr. Göknur Akçadağ and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yeşim Özer Yürür. BPW İstanbul Chair Müjde Çetin shared the programme’s focus on gender equality and its successful results to date, noting that it had increased international partnerships and expanded its reach.

Later in the event, a protocol was signed by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yeşim Özer Yürür, BPW İstanbul Founding President Selda Alemdar Dinçer and Chair Müjde Çetin. Discussing inequality’s historical roots, Prof. Dr. Göknur Akçadağ drew attention to struggles for women’s rights during the War of Independence and the Republican era. Board Member Ceylan Güzekin highlighted the positive effects of increased representation of women in business on corporate success and social development.

The programme concluded with mentors from previous terms sharing their experiences and the announcement of those selected to participate in the fifth mentoring programme.
