MicroPort executives discussed cooperation in healthcare technology, R&D, and robotic surgery. The parties agreed to sign a confidentiality agreement at their next meeting to explore developing robotic surgery platforms in Türkiye.
Robotic Surgery and Industry Collaboration
Senior executives from MicroPort, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies, visited our university to explore potential collaborations in R&D and healthcare technologies.
MicroPort was represented by Dr. Altuğ Ergin, Senior Vice President of MicroPort Türkiye, and Ebru Güneş, Senior Director, Total Solution & Regional Director for Türkiye, Eastern Europe, the Balkans and Azerbaijan. Representing our university were Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ece Salihoğlu and our R&D Industry Office Directors Timuçin Bayram and Dr. İsmail Kasap.
The meeting introduced our university’s industry-focused vision, which extends beyond traditional academia, and our R&D Industry Office’s dynamic model for collaboration with companies. During a campus tour, our guests visited educational and practical training areas and viewed our R&D infrastructure firsthand. Discussions focused on recent developments in healthcare technologies, particularly innovations in robotic surgery and opportunities for strategic partnerships. To enable joint work on developing and manufacturing robotic surgery platforms in Türkiye, the parties agreed to sign a confidentiality agreement at their next meeting.
