Onur Solak shared aircraft maintenance hangar practices, technical documentation, and safety processes with Aircraft Technology students, connecting theoretical education with industry experience.

Istanbul Nişantaşı University’s Technology Transfer Office (TTO), Vocational School Aircraft Technology Program and Technology Transfer Club jointly held “A Guest in Class,” bringing students together with industry professionals.

Aircraft Maintenance Technician and Mechanical Engineer Onur Solak was the guest at “Industry Gathering: A Workshop Conversation with Aircraft Technology Students.”

The event aimed to help Aircraft Technology students understand maintenance hangar operations through real applications, develop familiarity with AMM/FIM documentation and increase awareness of professional competence under SHT-66. Strengthening motivation for the industry and supporting professional careers were central goals.

Onur Solak comprehensively explained aircraft maintenance technicians’ responsibilities, the mechanical engineering perspective’s contribution to maintenance, distinctions between line and base maintenance, AMM/FIM documentation use, human factors (HF) and safety management systems (SMS). The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session addressing students’ technical questions about field practice.

Organized by the Technology Transfer Office, Aircraft Technology Program and Technology Transfer Club, the event was planned and carried out by TTO Director Lecturer Muhammed Emin Özmen.
