Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayben Pakolpakçıl’s sustainable filter project received TÜBİTAK 1002-B support, aiming to reduce environmental impact using biodegradable polymers and combined fibre production methods.

Associate Professor Ayben Pakolpakçıl of the Textile and Fashion Design Department in İstanbul Nişantaşı University’s Faculty of Art and Design aims to contribute to the textile industry and environmental protection through her project. Led by her, “Investigation of Single-Step Bimodal Sustainable Filter Design through Melt-Blowing and Solution-Blowing Methods” has received support from the Research Support Programmes Directorate (ARDEB) of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) under the 1002-B Emergency Support Module. The project aims to develop next-generation bimodal sustainable filters by integrating two fibre-production methods—melt blowing and solution blowing—in a single step. The filters will be produced using biodegradable polymers to reduce the textile sector’s environmental impact.
