Industrial Engineering students visited İstanbul Enerji’s Silivri Seymen Biomass Energy Plant, which generates energy from household waste.
Waste-to-energy and environmental sustainability
Istanbul Nişantaşı University Industrial Engineering students made a technical visit to İstanbul Enerji’s Silivri Seymen Biomass Energy Plant. They observed how the plant, which generates energy from household waste on the European side of Istanbul, contributes to environmental sustainability by capturing methane gas.
Students gained comprehensive knowledge of gas conditioning, storage and conversion to energy, reinforcing their theoretical knowledge in practice.
