During Disability Week, Boğaziçi University’s GETEM joined us to discuss visually impaired people’s right of access to information and volunteer reading.
Awareness for inclusion and accessibility
On the occasion of Disability Week, and as an important step toward greater inclusion and accessibility in society, we hosted Boğaziçi University’s GETEM (Technology and Education Laboratory for the Visually Impaired) at our university.
The event covered visually impaired people’s right of access to information, volunteer reading activities and audiobook recording in detail. Participants learned about the importance of digital libraries for visually impaired people and reflected on effective ways to raise awareness in society.
