İstanbul Nişantaşı University Faculty of Dentistry Participates in Dental Education Summit 2024

Our Faculty of Dentistry explored technological developments at Dental Education Summit 2024 in Helsinki, discussing digital imaging, VR simulators, and practical training tools.
Our Faculty of Dentistry closely follows technological developments in education and research, integrating innovations that increase comfort for patients and practitioners. Monitoring these advances alongside fundamental education enables students to encounter innovations during practical training.
The Dental Education Summit in Helsinki, Finland, on 1–4 July 2024 featured meetings showcasing and discussing technological innovations in dental education. Supported by PLANMECA, KAVO, Hey Smile, GC and MELAG, the event examined dental units, high-speed handpieces and advantages of new models, radiological imaging and three-dimensional evaluation units, digital articulators, the latest developments in implant surgery, and VR simulators’ features and potential improvements.
As the first foundation university to use the SIMtoCARE device, which we purchased for student education, İstanbul Nişantaşı University demonstrates its commitment to following and implementing technology. At the meeting, we exchanged ideas on desired developments in practical programmes across all departments and assessment and evaluation programmes.
We also visited the factory producing Planmeca dental units and radiological imaging devices. We thank company owner Heikki Kyöstila and its Turkish representative Ünaldı Medikal for their hospitality and productive organisation.
Our Faculty of Dentistry will continue to follow technological advances and offer students education at the highest level.
