High-Quality Gastronomy Education and International Achievement

Istanbul Nişantaşı University students achieved an outstanding result in the interuniversity competition held during Salon du Chocolat, the world’s largest event dedicated to chocolate and cocoa. Our team, comprising Gastronomy and Cookery students, made the university proud by placing second in this prestigious international event.

Held at the Istanbul Congress Centre, the event featured pastry chefs from around the world as judges. Antonio Bachour, twice named the world’s best pastry chef, chaired the jury. Our university’s Culinary Director Chef David Shipman also served on the jury for the interhotel competition.

Representing our university were third-year Gastronomy student İrem Kahya and Cookery Program students Beril Beyda Usluğ and Yiğit Baran Bozkurt. Prepared under the leadership of their instructor Chef Ezgi Dila Ünal Dalgın, the team impressed the jury with its creative presentation and technique.

A participant representing our university as a moderator also successfully reflected our institution’s professional approach throughout the event.

This important achievement was recognized as an indicator that Istanbul Nişantaşı University’s Gastronomy and Culinary Arts education continues to advance at international standards.
