Istanbul Nişantaşı University Listed Across All 17 Sustainable Development Goals in THE Sustainability Impact Rankings 2026
Our university featured across all 17 SDGs in THE’s 2026 sustainability assessment, reaching the 601–800 overall band. It ranked among the world’s top 300 in four Sustainable Development Goals.
London-based international higher education ranking organization Times Higher Education (THE) has announced the 2026 results of its prestigious assessment of universities’ sustainability performance.
Rising 38 places in Türkiye’s overall ranking in one year, Istanbul Nişantaşı University was among the institutions highlighted by THE as showing the greatest ranking improvement in Türkiye this year. The university ranked among the top three foundation universities in six Sustainable Development Goals and among the world’s top 300 universities in four areas.
In the assessment, renamed this year from “THE Impact Rankings” to “THE Sustainability Impact Ratings,” Istanbul Nişantaşı University achieved a notable success by being listed across all 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The university was placed in the 601–800 band in the THE Impact Ranking world ranking.
Among the World’s Top 300 Universities in Four Areas
Standing out in clean energy, economic growth, responsible production and tackling the climate crisis, Istanbul Nişantaşı University ranked among the world’s top 300 universities in four categories.
It also ranked among the top three foundation universities in Türkiye in these areas.
The Sustainable Development Goals in which the university was placed in the 201–300 band worldwide are:
• SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy
• SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
• SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
• SDG 13 – Climate Action
Standing out in no poverty and life on land, Istanbul Nişantaşı University ranked among the world’s top 400 universities in three categories.
The university also ranked among the top five foundation universities in Türkiye in these areas.
The Sustainable Development Goals in which it was placed in the 301–400 band worldwide are:
• SDG 1 – No Poverty
• SDG 15 – Life on Land
Istanbul Nişantaşı University’s progress in sustainability parallels its recent academic and international development. Despite being a young higher education institution, it has established a strong academic foundation and is consolidating its position as one of the region’s dynamic universities through expanding international collaborations and advances in global rankings.
