Cultural Heritage and Practical Training in Tourist Guiding
Students in Istanbul Nişantaşı University’s Tourist Guiding Program organized an enjoyable visit to Kariye Mosque on February 24, 2015, as part of their Mythology and Iconography course.
Accompanied by Selçuk Eracun, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Tourist Guides (İRO) and a professional tourist guide, and Lecturer Hümeyra Demir, students examined the mosque’s unique mosaics, frescoes and architecture in detail. They had the opportunity to explore closely the historical and artistic features of this building, considered one of the most important examples of Byzantine art.
