An awareness event on femicide and child abuse explored different forms of violence. Specialist Psychologist Sena Nur Akpınar and students highlighted education and social responsibility.

An event at İstanbul Nişantaşı University NeoTech Campus drew attention to femicide and child abuse, persistent issues on the global agenda. Specialist Psychologist Sena Nur Akpınar emphasised that violence against women causes serious physical and mental harm through psychological, economic and emotional forms as well as physical violence. She explained that its causes extend beyond individual problems to factors such as education and social role models. She stressed that building awareness through education from an early age is vital to creating a fairer, safer society.

Student İrem Bozdemir stated that women are left alone in the face of violence, leading to psychological as well as physical wounds. Saying that a pen and paper can change the world, she warned of the danger of any discourse that legitimises violence. She emphasised everyone’s responsibility to prevent violence from becoming a social norm and the importance of refusing to remain silent.
