Seminar on Combating Digital Violence against Women and Girls

The seminar focuses on recognising digital violence against women and girls, the importance of safer online spaces and shared responsibility in preventing violence.
Digital violence is a problem that reaches beyond the screen, affecting everyday life, freedom of expression and a sense of safety. Demeaning language, pressure and intimidation directed at women and girls can create barriers to equal and free participation online. Addressing digital violence therefore requires awareness of respect, privacy and equality alongside the ability to use technology.
The “Seminar on Combating Digital Violence against Women and Girls” brings this issue into focus through women and family studies, psychology and social work. Recognising different forms of violence, refusing to normalise harmful behaviour and developing supportive communication are central dimensions of the subject.
The message “A world free from violence is possible!” highlights shared responsibility for safer digital spaces. Individual awareness, solidarity and institutional sensitivity all matter in enabling women and girls to make their voices heard freely online.
The programme announced by the Women and Family Studies Application and Research Centre lists 15 December 2025, from 15:00 to 16:30, at NeoTech Campus, C145.
