Sustainability and Climate Change Adaptation Work at the Vocational School

The Vocational School embeds sustainability and climate adaptation in its programmes; two academic staff became Green Certificate Specialists through the YES-TR training.
Our Vocational School aims to train environmentally aware, innovative and socially responsible technicians in line with our country’s sustainable development goals. To this end, activities that raise awareness of the environment, energy efficiency and the fight against climate change are prioritised in teaching.
The Green and Ecological Building Technician Programme opened at our university is an important step in training qualified people for sustainable, climate-friendly construction. Other programmes such as Automotive Technology, Interior Design, Architectural Restoration and Business Management also cover sustainability, environmental protection, energy efficiency and the protection of cultural heritage through their course content and practice. Trainings, seminars and field activities organised to raise students’ awareness have helped strengthen climate change adaptation and sustainable development awareness.
In addition, two academic staff members of our Vocational School completed the YES-TR training run by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change and earned the title of Green Certificate Specialist. The knowledge and experience gained have been reflected in curriculum updates and activity planning, increasing the institution’s sustainability capacity.
