I Designed It for You, Professor! Fashion Design Students Dress Vocational School Academics

Fashion Design students created bespoke garments for women academics, gaining user-centred design experience through measurements, colour analysis, and fittings, with fabric support from Lifung.
Fashion Design Students Gain Practical Experience Through Bespoke Garment Design
Fashion Design students at Istanbul Nişantaşı University worked individually with female academics from the Vocational School to create bespoke garments in the Custom Garment Design course, coordinated by Lecturer Melike Mendi.
This professional training activity enabled students to put theory into practice. They began with body and colour analyses, then carried out design, production and fitting processes based on each participant’s measurements.
Students gained experience in design development, measurement, material use, fitting and product assessment while considering real users’ needs. The garments were evaluated for technical and aesthetic quality and presented to the academics as gifts of appreciation.
The project helped students develop user-centred design skills and gain practical professional experience.
Lifung supported the project by supplying specialist fabrics, contributing industry resources to the design and production materials used in students’ education.
