The 5th Sustainability Meetings Summit, organised with TİHCAD, shared industry experience in sustainable textile and fashion production, the circular economy, recycling, and digitalisation.

The fifth Sustainability Meetings Summit was held at our 1453 Maslak NeoTech Campus on 30 May 2024, jointly organised by İstanbul Nişantaşı University’s Faculty of Art and Design, Textile and Fashion Design Department, and the Textile Exporters and Employees Association (TİHCAD).

Within university–industry cooperation, the event aimed to inform industry participants and students about sustainability initiatives and environmentally friendly approaches in textiles and fashion. It emphasised embracing sustainability as a whole—socially, economically and environmentally—to leave a more liveable world for future generations.

The summit highlighted leading brands’ sustainability strategies, implementation methods, the requirements of the “New Sustainable Age” and digitalisation in textiles. Industry representatives and experts shared current knowledge on sector developments, sustainable production, circular economy, consumer behaviour and recycling.

Experienced stakeholders exchanged ideas with academics on issues affecting the sector’s future. Textile and Fashion Design students learned about internships and employment from prominent industry figures.

The summit provided an important platform where industry leaders shared developments and future professionals encountered career opportunities. Participants gained comprehensive knowledge of sustainable production technologies and best practices while establishing valuable connections for the future.
