An online information event on TÜBİTAK ARDEB programmes was organised by the Scientific Activities Coordination Office. In her opening remarks, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Yeşim Özer emphasised that ARDEB offers researchers important career opportunities, sharing examples from her academic experience and wishing participants a productive event.

TÜBİTAK Chief Scientific Programmes Specialist Dr. Selin Bora Melik presented detailed information on ARDEB’s core strategies and programmes with periodic, continuous and specific calls. She stated that more than 55,000 applications were received between 2019 and 2023, and that support for doctoral students had increased. She also explained that a doctoral student could lead one project while participating as a scholarship holder in another.

Dr. Melik noted that 18 patents had been obtained over the past six years under the 1005 National New Ideas Programme and that the 1001 Programme received the most applications. She added that special calls were issued for extraordinary situations such as earthquakes.

Discussing national and international partnerships, she stated that the 1071 Programme involved collaboration with 102 institutions in 72 countries. The event concluded by highlighting the university’s role and contributions in TÜBİTAK-supported projects.
