Civil Society Cooperation and Youth Participation in Tobacco Control

Istanbul Nişantaşı University has launched the “Youth Movement for a Tobacco-Free World” project, led by the Youth Services Centre in cooperation with Tobacco-Free Kids. In line with our social responsibility policy, we believe universities and young people can make important contributions to combating all forms of addiction.

Through research, capacity-building and advocacy campaigns during the project, we aim to protect young people from the harms of tobacco products, support effective enforcement of existing legislation and expand smoke-free spaces.

To this end, we formed a Youth Advocacy Group of young people who will actively participate in the advocacy campaign. At our first meeting in Ankara on May 15–16, our project team, national experts and international supporters came together to assess tobacco control, legal regulations and current practices.

Throughout the project, which will run until April 2026, we will continue taking strong steps towards a tobacco-free life through creative work and effective campaigns developed with young people.
