Zorluteks Home Textile Collection Selection Project Connects Students with Industry

Fashion Design students presented home textile collections themed Silent Codes of Civilisation to Zorluteks. Following jury evaluation, two bedroom sets were selected for production.
The “Zorluteks Home Textile Collection Selection” project, carried out within the Fashion Design Program’s Home Textile Design course, offered students valuable experience connecting academic knowledge with industry dynamics. Over the fourteen-week course, students gained a holistic experience of collection creation, concept development and design decisions suitable for industrial production.
At the final stage, Zorluteks, one of the leading companies in home textiles, visited the university to examine student designs firsthand. Students had the opportunity to present their designs directly to industry professionals and receive feedback.
The project’s main theme was “The Silent Codes of Civilization.” Students created original collections by interpreting Anatolian symbols and cultural motifs at risk of being forgotten through a contemporary design language.
Following jury evaluations, two bedroom sets were selected for production. Achievement plaques were also presented to successful students.
Demonstrating the educational power of academic–industry collaboration, the project became an important source of experience and inspiration for students’ professional journeys.
