The Waste Management Procedure provides for separate collection and recovery of uncontaminated plastic packaging. This establishes a waste management framework to prevent plastics entering the environment.
Sorting plastic waste and reducing plastic-product consumption are different activities. The reviewed sources did not verify a campus-wide plastic reduction policy, a single-use product substitution decision or procurement records demonstrating a consumption change. The recovery rule has therefore not been presented as an achieved reduction in plastic consumption.
