Elected Representation and Participation in University Decision-Making

Participatory governance requires clarity about how representatives are selected and which decisions they can contribute to. Istanbul Nişantaşı University documents academic governance, student representation and participation in quality processes through distinct institutional arrangements.
2. Academic Governance and Student Representation
The governance section of the 2025 Activity Report identifies professors elected by the Senate as members of the University Executive Board. Article 13 of the Student Council Directive provides for the Council President to attend relevant Senate and Executive Board meetings when student-related matters are discussed.
3. Student Participation in the Quality Commission
Under the procedures adopted on 21 August 2025, unit representatives elect the University Student Quality Representative by majority vote to serve on the University Quality Commission. Unit representatives are selected through an application, academic-merit and unit-head selection process. The university representative attends commission meetings and submits an annual student-perspective evaluation report, providing a defined route for student feedback.
