İstanbul Nişantaşı University manages campus sewage and liquid effluent disposal in full compliance with municipal infrastructure standards and national environmental protection regulations. The sewage disposal system operates across the Maslak 1453 Campus (NeoTech Campus) as described below.
Municipal Sewage Network Integration
100% of domestic wastewater, sanitary sewage, and liquid effluents generated across all academic, administrative, and social facilities of the campus is discharged into the public sewerage infrastructure managed by İSKİ (İstanbul Water and Sewerage Administration), the metropolitan authority responsible for urban drainage and environmental sanitation.
Wastewater Treatment
In accordance with İSKİ Wastewater Discharge Regulations and national environmental legislation, all campus sewage is channeled through municipal mainlines to advanced biological wastewater treatment plants operated by İSKİ. These facilities perform primary, secondary, and biological treatment processes before ecological discharge, preventing soil or groundwater contamination.
Grease Separation and Vegetable Oil Management
Grease separators are installed at kitchen and catering facilities across the campus to prevent fats, oils, and grease from entering the sewerage system and causing blockages or pollution. These separators are maintained regularly. Used vegetable oils generated by campus catering operations are collected separately in dedicated containers and transferred to contracted licensed companies for disposal, preventing their discharge into the sewage network. This programme ensures full compliance with environmental discharge standards and protects the integrity of the municipal wastewater infrastructure.
