Second-year Fashion Design students exhibited work combining handcraft, digital design and AI with a sustainable production approach.
In the exhibition “From Yarn to Pixel: Digital Reflections of Craft”, second-year students of the İstanbul Nişantaşı University Vocational School Fashion Design Programme showed work reflecting the different stages of the collection process.
Stages Shown
- Hand-crafted, weaving-based mood boards
- Original digital designs developed in software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Conceptual designs created with AI-supported systems and visualised digitally
Educational and Technical Goals
The event aimed to give students experience in digital fashion design, encourage sustainable production approaches, and build the ability to reinterpret traditional craft knowledge with contemporary digital tools.
Evaluation
Each work offered an original interpretation bringing traditional handcraft heritage together with a contemporary design language, supported by digital production tools, and showed how teaching and creative design outputs come together.
