Design-Based Social Responsibility: Toy Production for LÖSEV

Back to all events

Fashion Design students made 100 toys from sustainable and waste textiles and delivered them to LÖSEV.

In the “Design-Based Social Responsibility: Toy Production for LÖSEV” event, students of the İstanbul Nişantaşı University Vocational School Fashion Design Programme carried out a production process focused on contributing to society. Toys designed according to sustainability principles were made and prepared for delivery to LÖSEV.

What Was Done

  • Selecting and sorting waste and sustainable textile materials
  • Planning toy design and production with children’s health and safety in mind
  • Sewing the toys using handcraft techniques
  • Putting the toys through hygiene processes and preparing gift packages

Educational and Social Goals

The event aimed to build students’ awareness of sustainable design, social responsibility and contribution to society, and to let them apply their design skills to a real social need. The process helped students develop a sense of ethical production, volunteering and sensitivity towards disadvantaged groups.

Outcome

The 100 toys produced were delivered to LÖSEV after hygiene and packaging. The work is a concrete example of sustainable design combined with social benefit, integrating teaching with community contribution.
