ISTANBUL FROM CULTURE TO TABLE: STUDENT PROJECTS EVALUATION EVENT WITH SECTOR AND ACADEMIA PARTICIPATION

The “Istanbul from Culture to Table: Student Projects Evaluation Event with Sector and Academia Participation,” organized by our university's Tourist Guidance Program, was successfully held within the scope of fall semester final projects.
The event took place with the presentations of a total of 7 project teams, each consisting of 9 people, formed by our students taking the Cultural Routes and Comparative Culinary Cultures courses.
Our students presented their projects, in which they addressed Istanbul's cultural heritage, gastronomic identity, and tourism potential from an interdisciplinary perspective, in front of sector representatives and an academic evaluation board.
Valuable external stakeholders of our program and supporting tourist guides actively participated in the evaluation process within the framework of local stakeholder participation and evaluated the student presentations from an industry perspective.
As a result of the evaluations made, while various awards were given to all students, the top three project teams that ranked were additionally rewarded and presented with plaques by our university.
We extend our sincere thanks to all our external stakeholders and sector representatives, especially the Istanbul Chamber of Tourist Guides and the I-MICE Association, for their valuable contributions to this meaningful event and the qualified awards they presented to our students.
