Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Osman Boyraz Presents Türkiye’s Aviation Vision at Istanbul Nişantaşı University

At the event in the Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cevdet Uysal Conference Hall at the NeoTech Campus, Deputy Minister Boyraz presented Türkiye’s growth story and future vision in civil aviation. Sarıyer District Governor Metin Maytalman also attended.
In his speech, Boyraz noted that passenger numbers exceeded 247 million in 2025, setting a record in the history of the Republic, and emphasised that Türkiye hosts Europe’s sixth-largest air traffic volume, with an average of 3,355 flights daily. He described Türkiye as a decisive force in global aviation with a network reaching 356 destinations in 133 countries and an active fleet exceeding 800 aircraft, stating: “Turkish aviation has today become one of the world’s fastest-growing and most competitive sectors.”
The event also held historic significance as the Pilot Training Department graduated its first cohort. Achievement certificates were presented to successful graduates of Aircraft Maintenance and Repair, Aviation Electrical and Electronics, and Air Traffic Control.
School of Civil Aviation Director Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Ertürk addressed graduates, highlighting the broad opportunities and major responsibilities awaiting them during this strong growth in Turkish aviation. Following the ceremony, university management, academics, industry representatives and students gathered to explore cooperation between academia and industry.
